Ghost of the Roast - By: Whoever needs another poem (It's pretty good)

The nurse walks in
With a ballpoint pen
She has bad news
But I refuse [to hear it]
She storms out in rage
But leaves behind her fair page
"Page," I murmured,
"deliver the bad news."
He glances at the report
And dies
I look and see on my own
My grief must have shown
I am out eating, I spot a
roast
I mistake it for a toast
Butter it up
Get jelly from a cup
The ghost of the roast
Hates me the most

Limerick Poem. By: Jessica Moran

So, uh. Let's throw something together.

The life of a man named Fred.
Edited.

There once was a man named Fred.
Who somehow has bumped his head.
It hurt real bad,
And he was sad.
Because then, poor old Fred, was dead.

But the thing is he's not my hero

Avaunt! Be gone! So my eyes won't see,
You, and yours, what you've done to me!
I can see no longer, there is permanent shade,
Darkness, my soul, it ebbs and pervades!
But light comes in, tiny, hopeful and free
Shall I call it Your Majesty?
What say of God? Of Freedom? Of Hell?
We hear of these things and know them well,
So am I mad to claim this thing new?
This light, I'll call Love, and I'll give it to you.

The Bathroom By Kasey Sweeney

So much depends on...
The bathroom.
Without it, there would be so much doom.
AH! The pain, the agony,
Of having to hold it all in.
Oh, so much depends on the bathroom.
It's dirty now, go get the broom!

The Contradiction Poem posted by: Justin Poe

Ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps,
I stand before you and sit behind you
to tell you something I know nothing about!
Admission is free, you must pay at the door;
So pull up a chair and sit on the floor.
The show is over, but before you go,
let me tell you a story I don't really know :

One bright day, in the middle of the night
two dead boys got up to fight
back to back; they faced each other;
drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise
He came and shot those two dead boys.
If you don't believe this lie is true...
just ask the blind man; he saw it too!

Tears

                                Tears
                    By: Amber Monarch

The unbearable pain
aching, breaking, shattering.
Broken, destroyed and
gone.

Here they come, welding,
waiting for a breaking point.
So they can flow down,
rushing, streaming,
letting go of everything.

Clouding my vision,
vulnerability strikes as
well as depression and
confusion.
Leaving you lost...
clueless as of
what to do.

Life is a war
Not a battle

Life is a commitment
Not a fling

Life doesn’t give up the first time it falls
It’s already prepared for the next trip

Life doesn’t fall apart, like so many believe
It simply removes the problems

Life isn’t prewritten, engraved into stone
It’s the paper and you are the pen

Life doesn’t decide whether it lives on past you
Your decisions are the footprints left in the sand

Life limits itself to nothing
You keep life from living

You live not when your heart is still beating
But those moments when it chooses to stop

You live not when you are breathing
But moments you must catch your breath

Life is not only in beauty
It’s even more alive in pain

Life isn’t getting everything you want
But learning to live with what you have

Life isn’t always getting whom you love
Sometimes it’s letting them go

Life is creating happiness through tears
Where only one mold fits you

Life is learning that at times you will fail
But at others you will also succeed

Life isn’t times when you’re talking
You live when you need not say a word

Life is being in your arms
And knowing they’re losing their grip

Life is the moments when life doesn’t matter
When nothing could keep us apart

Life is knowing it might not work
But attempting it anyway

Life is a war
Not a battle

Look into the fire

Look into the fire.
Watch it dance.
As it does for you
Hear its song.
It sings for you.
Feel its loving warmth.
Its love is for you.
Do you know its story?
Its weak beginning.
Its problems and strengths
Will you regret its death?
No.
Not a tear to be shed.
You know why.
You killed it yourself.
You think the fire is destruction.
So you do what you will.
You cannot see the truth.
Light.
What has it done?
Why would you take its life after all it has done?
Everything has it's own evil.
Even yourself.
Would you turn the gun or the blade upon yourself?
Then why take the life of the fire?
Think of what it has done for you.
You saw its dance.
Awed in the glow of its embers.
It sang its heart and soul to you.
It gave you its love.
Its warmth.
Its life.
How do you repay it?
Why kill the fire?
Its life was for you.

Rain

                                                                            Rain
                             By: Alci Holmes

I remember rain as a child....
I always wanted it to go away
When it did, I would go play
Not worrying
Being happy, that's all I had
And when I was done
I would return to my home
And hope tomorrow there would be no rain
Only sun.........

When I was older.......
I stayed in when the sun was out
I played games, and talked to people inside
I stayed in my room
As it was my little cave
I would hope it would rain
Just so I would have an excuse
Oh how I loved the rain.......

As I am now.....
I love them both
The sun and rain
In the sun I do many things
I play with friends
I look at the sky
I dream.....

But when it rains
I begin to think
I begin to hope
I begin to believe
Oh how I love the rain.......

Lonely By: Sasha Harden

I waited but you never came,
I stood there in the rain,
Waiting for you in the cold night,
My tears streaming down my face,
You can not see them cause of the rain,
My body soaked but you were still not there,
I waited and waited all through the night all though you never came,
My heart broke that night,
When you didn't show up

Alone in the world
Darkness clouds my vision
Horror speaks to me

Light explodes
Only to recede
To hide as the others hide

Drifting along in this sea of darkness
Waves of depression start to rise
The goal only to drown

Crashing down they come
Vengeance on their mind
Forgiveness non-existant

Fear overrides all
Survive or die
But what do I have worth living for?

Did Ya

DID YA
By Cody Kessinger
Rhyming Poem
I was sittin’ down by the beach
lookin’ at the sun as it set
so far out of my reach
but it was my best bet
I’m guessin’ I broke down that day
I’ll tell ya what I saw
I was gone so far anyway
I came back at my call

did ya ever wanna break down
and say exactly what you mean
did ya ever wann break down
and say all you have seen

I was sittin’ up on the peak
on the very top of the mount
justin’ kickin’ around my feet
lookin’ at the people on the ground
I was up there for so long
I was up there ‘til day turned night
thinkin’ hard enough to make me strong
thinkin’ til it was light

did ya ever wanna break down
just tell me what you know
did ya ever wanna break down
where are ya gonna go

standin’ on the cold ice
the very cold polar wind
listening to all the lies
that just came blowin’in
took me off my feet
threw me to the ground
took me off of my beat
now it’s time to break down

did ya ever wanna break down
but you don’t know what to see
did ya ever wanna break down
and take something in life for free

I was sittin’ in the meadow
starrin’ at the clouds
as far as silence goes
it can be so loud
I didn’t know what to do
my life is dismayed
trying to make it through
but I’ve been gettin’ delayed

I miss you by Lyric Reynolds

the pain i felt when i left your side
was nearly impossible to hide.
i fell hard for you
and i thought your feelings were true.
i guess it's time to be on to the next,
but just to let you know; you were the best.
as of now, you have my heart
and maybe we should have a new start?
the love we had for each other was so strong.
i wonder why it didn't last long!
we both made mistakes,
but that last one was the icing on the cake.
you say you don't believe i cry everyday
but; i do.
it kinda makes the sadness go away.
it's not that we weren't happy together.
we just needed a break from each other.
i really thought you were the one,
but obviously not, now that we're done.
hopefully we can be friends,
because i really don't want us hanging to end.
everyone says im sprung,
but hey...we're both still young.

Secret By Danielle Boehmer

Two men entered and I thought I was dreaming.
I heard the sounds of what were laughter and expected the door to slam off the hinges.
The dark initiates my fear and I tell myself:
Nothing can hurt me, nothing can hurt me.
The blanket weighs 300 pounds pinning me on my stomach.
Although my eyes are open, I see nothing but a spiraling glow that radiates from the alarm clock on the nightstand.
Hands are gripping me, the sheets are twisted.
I'm suffocating, I smell nail polish.
I picture my mother out in the garden on a spring day planting new strawberry seeds.
The Earth aroma as she turns the soil lingers.
I imagine my life as a princess.
Nothing can hurt me, nothing can hurt me.
It's 5:47 AM and the sun looks as if it's about to defeat the night sky,
A battle between good and evil that rages on through centuries unnoticed.
My nightgown is tangled above my hips.
I went to sleep with panties on and I smell blood.
Blinding light from the bathroom crushes my eyes.
I try to stand up but the weight of the world buckles my knees.
Nothing can hurt me, nothing can hurt me.
The dawn breaks and this veil of secrecy I carry around is about to melt.
Something in my vein explodes,
And i realize,
I'm not looking at a portrait now.
We're all living in it.
